AI Automation & Workflow Engineer, Microsoft 365

Owns end-to-end delivery of AI workflows inside the client's Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant. Builds Copilot Studio agents, Azure OpenAI workflows, Power Automate flows, and Azure Function brokers that ground on enterprise data and respect tenant security boundaries. Ships production systems, not slide decks.

What you'll do

Day-to-day

  • Build Copilot Studio agents grounded on SharePoint knowledge bases, SOPs, and line-of-business documents, with citations and tenant-boundary controls.
  • Stand up Azure OpenAI workflows for classification, extraction, summarization, drafting, and routing tasks across departments.
  • Wire Azure AI Document Intelligence pipelines for invoice parsing, safety document digitization, and field form extraction.
  • Develop Azure Functions that broker between Power Automate, SharePoint, and legacy systems (ERPs, HRIS, project management platforms) with least-privilege API keys and PII minimization.
  • Build Power Automate flows for the workflows that do not need full code, and know when to graduate them to Functions.
  • Define guardrails: output validation, content filtering, confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop triggers, audit logging, and tenant data controls.
  • Build evaluation frameworks: test suites, regression checks, and scoring rubrics so quality is measured, not assumed.
  • Prototype rapid AI experiments end-to-end so business owners can see and pressure-test workflows in days, not quarters.
  • Document architecture, prompt design decisions, and runbooks. Maintain version-controlled prompt and component libraries.
  • Enable internal citizen developers on Power Platform within sanctioned guardrails.
What we're looking for

You should

  • Have shipped production AI features that real employees use day to day, not demos and not chat experiments.
  • Know the Microsoft stack at depth: Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, Entra ID, and Purview/DLP basics.
  • Have built RAG over enterprise knowledge with proper grounding, citations, and tenant isolation.
  • Fluent in Python and comfortable wiring up Azure Functions, REST APIs, and webhooks as integration brokers.
  • Treat enterprise data boundaries as non-negotiable: no leakage outside the tenant, PII minimization, secret management, key rotation, test/prod separation.
  • Think in systems. You see prompts and agents as components inside larger workflows with upstream data, downstream consumers, and failure modes.
  • Rigorous about evaluation. You build tests, measure outputs, and make data-driven calls about what is working.
  • Communicate clearly in writing. You document reasoning, tradeoffs, and test results so the next person can pick it up.
Nice to have

Bonus points

  • Experience integrating with construction or industrial ERPs (Trimble Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, Procore, HCSS, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
  • Hands-on production experience with Copilot Studio agents grounded on SharePoint
  • Microsoft certifications: PL-400, PL-600, AI-102, or AZ-204
  • Background in agentic workflows, tool-use architectures, or multi-step orchestration patterns
  • Exposure to safety-critical or regulated environments where output reliability and auditability matter
  • Comfort talking to a CFO about ROI on Tuesday and a field superintendent about a JHA on Wednesday
